![]() Report Builder is a good first try for an MS product, but it is quite limited, you could always get power users to mock something up using it and send to the report developers to expand upon. You can build 'data source views' against your SQL, Oracle and then let the power users create reports in Report Builder. ![]() You can also build reports in Reporting Services against regular SQL Server, or other data sources (you can even have SSIS packages as data sources). You can point Pivot Tables(Excel or OfficeWebComponents OWC, sharepoint etc) at cubes, you can write a custom app (using ADOMD, like ADO.net but for cubes) or you can use Reporting Services (using MDX, the cube equivalent of T-SQL) or even Report Builder (a free zero touch deployment app with limited functionality for power users) If you want to slice and dice, then you'll need cubes which you create in Analysis Services.
